I Should Read That Book Tag!

I Should Read That Book Tag

A big thank you to Kay @ Hammock of Books for inviting me to do this tag (back in, oh…August, whoops). It’s been a bit since I’ve done a book tag but this was super fun to fill out! But my TBR…yikes. There are hundreds more books I could probably put down for these questions. 😅 Regardless, here are some of the top books on my mind!

(Also, Kay is an amazing book blogger, so definitely make sure to check out her blog!)

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

I think I mentioned this recently, but one of my best friends is always telling me how astounding and impressive the Mistborn series is! I promise I will pick it up soon! (eh, hopefully)

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t read it

A Torch Against the Night! Hopefully I can return to the series before the final book releases! Lol, one of my Lit profs told me he abandoned this series because it got too romancey and angsty for him, so I’ll be curious to see how my thoughts compare!

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten around to finishing

The Fate of the Tearling in the The Queen of the Tearling series! I read the first 2 books years ago but never got around to the third, even though I own the entire series. Why are series so hard to finish?!?!?

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but have never actually read

Jane Eyre! I even bought a copy at a used book sale like 5 years ago. My roommate has even repeatedly mentioned how much she loves this book, so I really don’t know why I haven’t read it yet.

A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Um….don’t hate me, but….Harry Potter.

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but just haven’t picked up yet

My latest TV obsession has been Outlander. I don’t know if I will ever pick up the books–I’ve heard mixed things about them. But maybe?! I’m always curious how books and their adaptations compare.

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

With their recent cover redesigns, I keep seeing the Lunar Chronicles all over Instagram. Again, I’ve read all of the books…except the last one, Winter. Have you seen the cover redesigns?? They’re so gorgeous! I really wanna own them tho I most definitely don’t need to…

Lowkey don’t know if I can come up with 10, BUT I TAG…

Of course, no pressure to participate (and sorry if you’ve already been tagged for this–I forgot to check), but if you do the tag, please tag me so I can see your answers! 😀

What books are at the top of your TBR? What’s a bookish adaptation you’re loving? What’s a classic you want to read?

  1. Ah … I feel like Mistborn should be my answer to the first one, too. xD I’ve been meaning to read it for, like, a year now and still haven’t gotten to it, and I’m not even sure why?

You know, I know a lot of people who read Harry Potter as adults and enjoyed them, but now that I’m an adult, I don’t want to re-read Harry Potter, because I think it’s mostly nostalgia at this point and I just don’t think I’d enjoy them as much as an adult. So I don’t blame you for not reading them. 😛

    Thanks for the tag!

    1. I’m not sure why I haven’t picked up Mistborn either, tho I feel like part of reason is because it’s a series of big fantasy books and those can be intimidating, eeek!

And that makes sense! Yeah, now that I’ve become an adult, I feel even less inclined to seek them out.

And of course! I look forward to seeing your answers! 😀

  2. I love the Lunar Chronicles, but I prefer the original covers. Something about the new ones throws me off, even though they are gorgeous. xD

I didn’t read Harry Potter until college, and while I like the idea of it (the world mainly), I think it’s slightly overrated and not as well written as everybody thinks. XD

Thanks for tagging me! I’ve seen a couple other blogs do this and wanted to try it myself! 🙂

    1. I get that! Usually I prefer original covers, but something about these are also so prettyyyyy

And yeah, I’m worried my opinion might be the same about HP if I ever pick them up…

You’re welcome! Can’t wait to read your answers! 🙂

  3. YO!!! How goes it?!

I would give you my thoughts on HP but I just blogged about it, so… 😉 You’re very on brand with all of your fantasy.

Update: I finished my novel rough draft yesterday😍 After 4 years, this baby finally came into fruition.

      1. YO! Life is a bit crazy with college finishing up. How goes it for you?

Bahaha, I can never avoid the fantasy theme 😉

And omg, that’s so exciting! CONGRATS!
(Eeek, I really need to get back to writing…)

And ikr? I’ve had a copy forever, but I guess being a big classic it’s kinda intimidating?!? So many books, so little time!

        1. I’m doing well! I’m gonna take a couple months off now and just read a ton as my revision “research”😊 I’m looking forward to reading more. We’re in the opposite boats lol!

Best of luck with your last semester, I hope you’re having fun😊💛

  4. Thank you so much for tagging me – I’m super excited to give this one a go soon! Also highly recommend picking up The Fate of the Tearling and finishing off the series as it is just so good and one of my favourite fantasy series 🙂

    1. Oooh, I’m glad to hear that you love The Queen of the Tearling series! I feel like at one point I heard mixed reviews on the ending of the trilogy, but I don’t remember exactly.

And yay, I can’t wait to read all your answers! 🙂
